Orientation questionnaire
An in-house questionnaire based on risk factors documented in public literature — it doesn't reproduce or score like copyrighted clinical instruments (Epworth, STOP-BANG).
Orientation FAQs
Does this questionnaire diagnose sleep apnea?
No. It collects factors that public literature links to sleep apnea and gives you a qualitative orientation. Diagnosis requires a sleep study interpreted by a doctor.
Why doesn't it give a risk score?
Scored scales (Epworth, STOP-BANG) are validated, copyrighted clinical instruments. This questionnaire is deliberately qualitative: it points out matches with documented factors, it doesn't calculate any risk.
What should I do if several factors match?
Raise it with your primary care doctor; if they see fit, they'll refer you to a sleep clinic for a study. Writing down your symptoms and how long they've been happening helps a lot in that appointment.
What is a sleep study?
The test used to diagnose apnea: it records your breathing, oxygen, and sleep over one night — at home or in a hospital unit — and a medical professional interprets it.
