Consumable replacement FAQs

How often is each component replaced?

It depends on the manufacturer and on use: as a general reference, cushions and filters are replaced more often than headgear, frames, or tubes. This calculator's default intervals are for guidance — your equipment's manual is the authority.

Why does replacing on time matter?

With use, cushions lose their ability to seal, filters accumulate dirt, and headgear stretches out. Replacing on time keeps the equipment comfortable, hygienic, and sealing properly.

How do I know a component needs changing before its date?

Visible signs: cracks or deformation in the cushion, a discolored filter, headgear that no longer holds the same. If they appear before the scheduled date, don't wait for the calendar.

Do replacement parts require a prescription?

Replacement parts — cushions, filters, tubes, headgear — are generally sold over the counter. Complete masks and machines do require a prescription. When in doubt, your equipment provider can confirm each case.
